Friday Test to Blogs from ping.fm web site
I'm tweaking & testing my settings on ping.fm
It is a very cool service that can allow you to update several Status, Micro-blog, or Blog postings with one message. I've had some success and am trying to get it all the paths of data figured out.
ping.fm lets you send a message for "Status update," "Micro-blogging," or "Blogging" but it ends up as different things depending on the network you send it to. You can use their web site or send an email.
I started off sending text messages to the email address they gave me (each user get a unique one) to update my Facebook & Twitter status. I've added more networks (they have over 30) and can now update my Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, Blogger, Plaxo Pulse, Xanga, & Wordpress with just one message.
For this particular message, I am sending a message from the ping.fm web site, set to go to all my Blogs. I've got all the available options checked on all my networks to see where this actually goes. Next, I'll send a message from the ping.fm web site to all my Micro-blogs, then finally to all my Status Updates.
Depending upon where the messages end up, I'll change the ping.fm settings for my various networks to get messages going where I want them to go.
